So, are any of you ever paranoid when you use a crockpot? Like worry the house is burning down while you are at work with your food cooking?
I used a crockpot today and for the past three hours I've been thinking 'I wonder if the house is ok...'

No, but I set mine in the middle of the countertop with nothing within about 6" of it! LOL As long as you have enough liquid in it, it should be good... we've never had it cook down to nothing, but MIL did with a new crockpot. She put it on low before leaving for work ~4:30 and when FIL got up at 7:00, the moisture had COMPLETELY cooked out.
We had the same crockpot and that one cooked SO INCREDIBLY HOT. But otherwise, no, no worries here.
