I am actually bringing this up b/c I have seen some inquiries on the different methods of birth control on here in the past.
I seriously considered using natural family planning, but in the end it is just too risky for those not interested in conceiving.
Well, after several years of being dissatisfied with birth control pills and the NuvaRing, I am finally getting the Mirena IUD. I am super psyched about it, b/c I didn't think my gyno. would authorize me to get it b/c I have never had children and therefore my cervix is smaller. So, No more pills and I shouldn't have the side effects that I have had with BCP (crossing my fingers).
So hopefully all will go well, as there are risks and side effects associated with everything, especially things that get implanted into you. But after years of weighing and educating myself on my options, I decided that this is a risk I am willing to take.
Re: Birth Control Update
GL muddi! Let us know how it goes. Did they tell you how long you need to take it out before you are ready to ttc?
I have not decided what I want to do...so I keep paying my expensive out of pocket bcp. Im probably just going to switch bcps again...
Thanks ladies!
JennyLo - I didn't ask, b/c there is a high probability that DH and I will never TTC. I will make sure to ask when I go in for the implantation.
Good luck!!
I also wish I could do NFP, but it's too risky for me as well
