DH finally understands why I was in tears yesterday.

imageOnce we got the bed together and into Alex's room, Alex took to it right away as far as playing on it and climbing up and down. We disassembled the crib and hung onto the parts for the convert into the full sized bed for later on...and then came back upstairs.

Lack of a crib made it very different for DH, I think. He got all teary and looked at me and was like, "Ok, NOW I understand, I think I'm going to cry."

Goober. Sigh.

  • Awww ... it is sad when they start to grow up!  :(

  • OMG Heather, he looks like such a big boy!  I'm getting choked up looking at the picture (there is no way I would be ready for that in a month).  I hope he does well in his big boy bed!

  • I'm totally not ready, Mindy! I have a feeling that Alex is going to do this to me a lot. :(

The update is that he just went to bed. We were trying to wait him out a while so that he was really tired. DH tucked him in without a problem. We kept his favorite bear and puppy on the bed with him, the sheets are the same, etc. so hopefully it's not traumatic for him.  He hasn't made a peep yet, so that's good.

  • i LOVE the bed!!!!! where did you get it???

and its such a cute pic!!!!  ))))HUGS)))) to you because i know you will need them because i know i would need them!

  • I'd be a total mess too!!
  • Aw!!!  That bed looks so comfortable!!!  = )  He looks so happy and excited about the big boy bed!!  How did he do last night?  Were you worried he'd fall off the bed??

I'm afraid Brianna would fall off, or she'd be up roaming around in the middle of the night instead of sleeping.  And also I don't think I"m ready for the big girl bed yet!!

  • Kim, I got it at BRU with my 15% coupon ;)

Maura, I wasn't really worried because it's not high off the ground. He did pretty well. When we came upstairs to bed he woke for a bit, but we both went in and settled him and he was back in bed sleeping in under 15 mins. Woke up normally and has napped this morning in it no problem, he's down for an afternoon nap now, not a peep out of him. Actually, I think he likes the freedom a lot. :)

  • Wow... go Alex!!!  I'm glad to heat that he did well!!  = )  It still doesn't make it any easier on you though!
  • Aww how did it go?  Did he sleep well!  I cannot imagine how emotion that must be...I am emotional just thinking about putting him in his room.  Love the bedding, is it from pottery barn?  I got Jack's there(it's also trains) but I saw that set on ebay and fell in love after we got his haha.
