my early anniversary gift ...
I REALLY wanted a glider w/ a foot rest shortly after Alyssa was born and the one that was perfect was apparently SO popular at BRU that it was always out of stock the few times we went to order it. Then there was a major fiasco w/ my car that was expensive so we just gave up on the idea of getting the glider ensemble, since I do have a Canadian rocker my parents gave me (but, it's not very comfortable and it squeaks and creaks no matter how much oil we feed it). So when I got home from my friend's house this evening with Alyssa, Eugene asked me to meet him in the back living room ... where he surprised me with the brand new glider and foot rest!!! It came in this week and he went to get it today ... I am thrilled and LOVE IT!! I rocked Alyssa in it tonight before she went to bed.

I always wanted a glider & footrest, but never got one. Guess it is too late now.

My Nana bought us a glider/ ottoman (JC Penney, I think) for our shower gift and it was indespensable for the first few months of BFing. But Alex reads with DH every night in the rocker now, and sometimes he climbs up himself to "read"...it's become the reading chair, a quiet spot now. I think that it's just a really good investment for a nursery. What a great present!
Like Heather said, never too late Min! I LOVE rocking Alyssa - and I know that is something I will enjoy even when she's Owen's age!! It's great for spending time together reading and I think she will like it too when she's bigger.

I love the glider we have in Brianna's room. I still use it everynight, and she also likes to sit in it and read, play or watch the Disney Channel in the mornings. = )
