:::mrssdsu:::

hey, i was reading your earlier post about your busy day tomorrow. . .

the day after my wedding (monday), we went to the ss office, made it official there.  i then went to the dmv & got my license done.  ask @ ss office tomorrow if this is possible.  i would think if mn does it, ca should.

good luck!

Re: :::mrssdsu:::

  • After SS they made me wait 3 days before they would let me go to the dmv.  The lady looked at my reciept from SS and wouldn't give me a number she said I HAVE to wait three days.  Try it though maybe you can get through!

    Good luck!

  • They made me have my new SS card before they'd issue a new license. SS took 2 weeks and the DMV took 2 weeks after that. And make sure to have the original license, not just a copy because they keep it (along with your birth certificate and such). Read the SS office for all the fun requirements.

  • When I went to the DMV I did not get my license for like three months.  I finally called (I figured it just took this long because it seems like everything with them takes that long.)  They told me my application was denied because i did not surrender my original license.  I was like, "yes i did, you punched a whole throught it.  I have it right here."  And they told me I had to come in again, to show that.  I was so annoyed.  So I went down on a Saturday, waited in line just to find out that at one time like four years ago I had gotten an ID card and they needed that back before they would issue me a drivers liscense in my new name.

    Point of Story = If you have an ID card make sure to bring that with you as well.

  • Anything any other state does something that makes sense, CA will do the exact opposite, and make it 10 times more difficult! Angry
