I just took the wrong pills by mistake. ?I meant to take my multi-vit & supplement pill, which I put in an empty RX bottle for travel purposes and in my overtired state right now I accidently took 2 Vicodin, which I never, ever take unless I feel like death after my nerve block injections to my ilioinguinal nerve. ?It is the same RX I've had since coming home from the hospital back in December and I took it with me just in case.
1- Am I going to get sick from taking 2 of them? ?The bottle says take 1-2 for pain as needed, but when I've taken them I have only taken a half or one.
2- Are they still good if they are from December? ?There is no expiration date on the bottle.?
3. I am scared to feed Ben now. ?He sometimes wakes at 4 am for a feed- should I give him formula instead? ?How long until it's out of my system? ?Should I pump & dump?
I have put a call into my doc and am waiting on a call back from the on-call. ?Any advice would be appreciated. ?I am so upset right now.?
Re: CRAP! Pharmacy/med girls- help!
Ok, let me try that again.
I worked in a pharmacy for 7 years, but am no pharmacist, so take my advice with a grain of salt!
There are a couple strengths, Im assuming you've got the 5/500's and not 7.5's?
1. You might have some nausea, but since you've taken them before you may be totally fine.
2. I'm gonna go with yes, Vicodin is very common in pharmacies and the expiration dated on the bottle went pretty far out and a bottle never lasted more than a few days where I worked, so I am sure these are still good.
3. I know nothing about kids, but I would formula feed him for 24 hours or so personally.
Good luck!
1. I don't think you'd get sick from taking them. But I would make sure you have something in your stomach though.
2. Yes, they will be fine.
3. I would of given him formula at night if he woke up hungry. I'm sure you'd be ok to BF him today. If you do so, I would just make sure to look for signs such as increase sleepyness, not acting normal etc in the even you still have the too much of the medication in your system. But if you wanted to be safe you could wait a full 24 hours.
