I just found out that I am losing my job!

I really don?t know how I feel about it right now.  No one knows that I even know except for some close coworkers that I told.  DH and I have already discussed me going to school full time and were going over our bills so that we could make it all work out.  It is definitely a blessing in disguise because I absolutely hate my job.  I feel like it is bitter sweet.  I am just going to put it in god?s hands and not stress about it.

Re: I just found out that I am losing my job!

  • I have to agree as for this being a blessing in disguise. Sometimes just being thrown into the sitation works out better. Had you quit, you wouldn't have qualified for unemployement.

Now you get to go to school fulltime, as you wanted and planned

and you'll have unemployement to help you out, where you probably weren't counting on that money before.

Think positive, things happen for a reason.

oh another positive is you get this holiday to completely enjoy all the time you want with your loved ones.

    Big Smile

  • Oh no! I am so sorry. But I know that God has something good for you, and like you said it is bittersweet. GL
  • Oh, no! I'm sorry this is happening, but I'm so happy it's a blessing in the long run.
  • Suck to lose your job this close to the holiday, but since you loathe your job that much, it will work out in your favor. I'm glad that you have a positive outlook and that DH is supporting you :)

  • Shirley,

I second what the gals have said; things happen for a reason. It does suck that they are doing this right before the holidays. My employer usually lays off 20+ people right before Christmas to make the books look good for the end of the year. It's terrible.

But now, this will give you time to think about what's really best for and DH. Chin up!

  • So sorry to hear that Shirley but now you get to start a new chapter in life. Best of luck with school.
  • Oh no! I'm so sorry, I know how you feel. Even though you were planning on making a change anyways, it feels almost like the decision was made for you instead of happening on your own terms. However, like you said, it's a blessing in disguise. Now you can go to school full time like you've wanted and get an even better job!
  • Best of luck!  Like you said, it may just be a blessing in disguise.  I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason.

  • I wish you all the best, and I am happy you no longer have to suffer at a job you hated so badly.

  • I'm sorry that this happened to you hun, but it looks like God presented you with an opportunity to look for a job that you really love. No one should be miserable every day!!! Best of luck in your search and in going to school full time.

  • I'm sorry this happened, but like pp said, hopefully it's a blessing in disguise.  Good luck with everything!
  • I'm also sorry but in this economy going to school full time may be the best thing for the future. Once you finish you can get a job that you will love and everything will work out. People close doors but God will always open a window.
  • Thank You Girls, all of you have made me feel much better Smile.  I will keep you guys posted on what happens in a week.

  • hey you...haven't spoken to you (or any of the other ladies) in a while. I'm glad you are looking at this as an opportunity to go back to school (think positive is what I always say).  Definitely leave it in G'ds hands.  He knows the EXACT path you should take.
