Please help: Macbook pro to TV cable
I have a Macbook pro that came with a DVI to VGA adapter cable. In the back of my tv (Sony Wega), I have an HDMI (that I think my cable box is hooked into) and another VGA port. The VGA is the exact same size and shape (both female) as the cable for my Mac.
Here is the question: Do I get a male/male VGA adapter? Or do I get the VGA to HDMI? Or do I need the mini display port to vga? And somehow should you hook up an audio cable?
I have been looking at cables for over an hour and am now throughly confused! Thanks!
Re: Please help: Macbook pro to TV cable
I would get a DVI to HDMI cable.
Does your audio come out of the tv or do you have a surround sound system? You should use an audio cable as well.

What do I plug the audio into? I have a surround sound system that rarely gets used anymore but by my hdmi plug in the back of my tv the audio is right next to it. So what kind of audio cable do I get? And do I plug it in from computer to tv? So do I need and 1/8" to audio?
Thanks!

This. Your audio setup will depend on where it's coming from; we have a Mac Mini plugged into our TV (no cable), so we plug the audio into the computer rather than the TV and control it there.
