DH and my family have asked and I have no idea. I really have everything I need or want. I scrapbook as a hobby but I don't want anything else besides what DH already bought me for Christmas (and I don't have room for any more). I'm not a spa person. I don't like wasting money on manicures because I'd ruin it in a few days (I already get montlhy pedis and I'm happy with that.) I'm not into traditional girly things like bling or candles or stuff like that. I'm not a big spender on clothes, and it's hard to buy me clothes anyway. I'm not into electronics or gadgets. I'm not big into cooking and don't need kitchen stuff. I don't drink or smoke. I love to read but since I'm frugal, I prefer to get my books from the library.
I really need nothing. Help give me ideas!
Re: What do I want for Christmas?
A gift card to Half Price books
GC to your pedi place to cover your next monthly pedi
A donation to a cause you care a lot about
Do you & DH like movies? DVDs...or if you prefer to rent, a GC to Blockbuster.
Do you need a new set of sheets? Towels?
Need extra blankets for your linen closet?
Just throwing out ideas...
Or, you could just politely tell people you appreciate them asking but you aren't really needing/wanting anything specific this year. I feel very content this year as well and I have asked for two very tiny things that cost about $10 each. That's it. If people want to get other stuff, that's fine, but there isn't anything I'm needing or just have to have...
Don't really need or want any of those, as we need nothing for our house. I'm always getting rid of stuff. But keep throwing out ideas. There has to be something out there that I'd just love to have. If only I knew what it is.
How about someone to come paint my master bedroom? Or do some repairs around the house?
Is there an activity you'd like to try or do? horse riding, abseiling, rock-climbing, golfing range, ten-pin bowling, ice skating, hot air balloon ride?
Tickets to the theatre, a concert, the movies?
A meal out at your favourite restaurant.
New gloves, scarf, hat, handbag, jewelry, shoes?
Perfume?
A session with a photographer for some nice photos together?
Plants for the garden?
Just trying to throw out ideas. Good luck.
I agree about needing practical stuff - I'm always throwing out things and our house is still too full!
As a sidenote, for my last birthday my mom got me a giant size thing of toilet paper and laundry soap. I thought it was pretty funny and useful.
A few things I've been telling people I need are
whole coffee beans, socks and running shorts & shirts (I run/workout regularly so I somtimes go through this stuff more often than I can wash it!), menards gift card for our "under construction" house.
I also love the charity idea - one of my favorites to give and get is a donation to the Heifer Project at heifer.org
Good luck!
A digital camera or digital picture frame?
A GC to a nice restaurant?
Throwing out some ideas:
- Personal training sessions at the gym
- Magazine subscriptions
- Storage boxes/organizers for scrapbook stuff
Good I am totally not the only...Mom bought me the cricket and DH is pissed. I could go for a massage though. My apt is 500 square feet, so I don't need STUFF!
-Magazine subscriptions for any that you like
-Tea
-GCs for a restaurant so you could have a date night
-Pre-paid photo plan for where you get your photos printed for scrapbooking?
-Donation to a worthy cause
-Swap things - help for a project, cleaning, babysitting (if you have kids), home made dinner
-Wine assuming you drink
-Totally geeking but my cousin always gets me a Costco gift card since he knows I have not time to shop anywhere else practically at least I can some food
