What do you want for Christmas?
It occured to me today that I really have no idea what I want for christmas, and usually I give DH at least a general idea so he knows what to do for my 'big' present.
I think if he asked me I would probably say new carpet! Sad, I know. But I really want that. However, I feel like I should tell him something that he could actually give me. So, share what you want this year and maybe it will spark some ideas for me. Thanks!
Re: What do you want for Christmas?
I was just going to make this post
You defiantly need to figure something out to tell your DH, carpet is not a suitable Christmas gift for a girl.
I am going to post the three things that I really, really, really, want!!!
1. a tv stand big enough for our too big tv with lots of room underneath for dvds
2. the iphone
3. some coach items
I asked the hub for a Vera Bradley purse with matching wallet. We're not doing a big Christmas this year since we're still broke from the wedding
I want a new tv but that would be a present for both of us.
I'd also like an iphone but I'm not sure if its worth paying $40 more per month than I do now.
We got the Wii we registered for so I am asking for Mariokart!
I feel like such a juvenile doing that though. I have been telling people to shop our registry pretty much. Our china pattern is getting discontinued by Macy's (Not by Waterford thank goodness!) so I don't want to miss getting the pieces we want/need but can't necessarily afford right now.
Other than that, I keep telling people I want a knob for the fan control in my car. Mine somehow fell off and disappeared so I can't change the speed. thank goodness it is at a normal speed and not on high or something but it is winter in Minnesota - I need defrost! Hubby just laughs and I don't think he thinks I'm serious but I totally am!!
I want a treadmill SOOO bad...I am getting fat. lol I love running on the treadmill and I always have to go to his parents house to use theirs. They have one from like 1980 and when I start running, sometime the rubber thing just STOPS in the middle and I almost kill myself.
I also want an iphone...1" chi straightener...tripod...and one of those Flip video cameras that post directly to youtube!

I struggle with this too. Honestly, we've been buying up things we need for the house and I suggested that we just give that as our gift to each other.
Example: I bought myself a camera. DH bought himself a tv and surround sound. I mean, when you buy that kinda stuff, who really needs other gifts. I mean he could buy me another lens, but I don't trust him to make that call.
I had suggested that we just get each other stocking stuffers and enjoy shopping for the house together. We can also focus on gifts for others. That makes more sense to me.
We're still working on our registry. My Christmas gift came early this year - we got another china place setting.
I'm still not sure what I'm getting him, though...
ha, Foto- I told H I want a Chi hair straightener too, the Nike+ sport band cause I want to start running again also. I'd LOVE an iphone, but I definitely don't want to spend extra per month, and I really don't need one...
I also asked H for new perfume, and I added a few things to our registry that we realized we needed for our parents, who were asking about gifts.
I can't really think of a 'big' present I want, either. And neither can DH. Sure there are big things we both want, like a house, an iphone, and a little life direction, but none of those thing are happening for Christmas. So we're both just getting each other a few small 'fun' items and stocking stuffers. I've mostly been telling relatives to use their imaginations--I have easy hobbies and taste to shop for.

DH and I are at a loss, too. We just received so many new things as wedding gifts we had a hard time thinking of anything else we wanted!
My parents wanted to do a few large gifts this year rather than lots of little stuff, so DH and I asked for a bed frame and dresser because ours was a mismatched collection of stuff and the bedroom is the only room in our place we haven't put much thought into. My parents bought that stuff for us when they were down at Thanksgiving. My mom is planning to get us a few additional small things for under the tree but it was hard to give her ideas!
DH and I also just bought a new car, so that was really our gift to each other. We are getting something small so we have something to give each other. I found a necklace on Etsy I really want and he wants some Iron Man collectibles.

I'm at a loss too. The biggest item on my wish list is a Coach wallet to match the purse my Dad got me for Christmas last year. But it's $200 which seems like WAY too much for a wallet. I kind of hope I don't get it; I couldn't think of anything else to put on my wish list.
DH is never at a loss for gifts... he's obsessed with the Droid phone from Verizon. He won't stop talking about it after he played with one a few weeks ago (3 of his friends just got them). Our 2-year contract isn't valid to renew until July, so I don't know if I can get it for him or not.
We have Christmas lists on the refrigerator (those magnetic shopping lists) and my husband and I put things on the list that we want. I usually put the lists on the frige after Thanksgiving. It's really nice to know exactly want he wants and we always put a lot of things on our lists so I have a lot of choices and it's always somewhat of a surprise.
Some of the things on my list this year:
New running/walking shoes
An extra soft robe
New silver hoop earrings
I guess we put things on the list that we would like to have but things that are not a necessity.
1. Gray Tahitian pearl ring (need a right hand ring)
2. Massage at Aveda
3. Wide angle lense
4. Leopard print snuggie
Check!
My practical list:
Brita water filter
cookbooks
wooden cooking utensils
hanging pot and pan rack
GAP gift cards
Eddie Bauer coat (they make them in tall!)
My not-so-practical list:
Canon digital camera with lenses
Wii
Sony 42" TV
Sure is! St. Nick brought me a blue one. I heart it!
