TGIF! So, what are you up to this first weekend in December?
Re: Ready for the weekend?
I can't believe it's December! This has honestly been the fastest year of my life. This weekend we're painting the nursery! Once that is done I can start putting together furniture :-) And we're getting our floors measured for carpet. K thinks it's important to have new carpet before the baby gets here so hopefully we'll have it installed by the new year.
Oh! I also want to go to Petco to get a free Christmas photo of K and I and the doggies
Yay!!! I can't wait to see pics when you get it all together!
I am SO ready for the weekend! We are going to see my little sister in a play, work on our holiday cards and hopefully do some xmas shopping. Can't wait!

i want to do this every single year but don't attempt it w/ our neurotic dog. i keep thinking, "maybe next year she'll be calmer..." lol.
hope it comes out great!

Tonight is andrea's work holiday party. but instead of going to it, we're meeting up with her coworkers for happy hour then babysitting her coworker's child (dont worry, we wont be drinking at happy hour!) so that she and her husband can go to the holiday party. sound strange, but i'm actually much more excited about playing with an 18 month old than i would be about getting dressed up to go to a company holiday party
Saturday we have some errands to run, house cleaning, holiday decorating (we've had the tree up for a week but not a single ornament on it!), and possibly meeting up with friends for dinner/drinks/movie in the evening.
Sunday we'll spend the day w/ my parents decorating thier house and tree and maybe even baking some cookies

One of my closest friends and I are heading out on Saturday to see New Moon and have lunch/dinner, just the two of us (its my birthday present). Should be fun and silly, although I'm still a little embarrassed about how excited I am for New Moon.
Otherwise there will be a lot of relaxing!!
Maybe I don't have a heightened sense of smell, but I've never smelled any vagina on my pants. -- TSD

Tonight one of my BFs from college is coming into town. Since the boys LOVE airports, going to pick her up will be a family affair.
Tomorrow we have breakfast with Santa at our community center. Then my friend and I are driving to Philly with the kids and leaving L with a quiet house to write her last paper of the semester. Hopefully the weather isn't too bad for the drive. We are going to go to the Please Touch Museum (which I am sure will be a madhouse given the weather and time of day - oh, well.) Dinner at Marathon Grill, and then if the weather cooperates a walk through the lights at Camden Children's Garden.
Sunday we'll go see the light show at Macys, walk around the Christmas Village, get lunch at Reading Market, and then home with (hopefully) two napping kids!
It should be fun (and exhausting!)
I can sum our weekend plans up in one word...CLEAN! I leave out of town on Tuesday and C's mom arrives Tuesday evening. She wants to work on the nursery so we really have to move the office downstairs this weekend. We were hoping to make it to our Church on Sunday (we went to a different one last week that had an evening Service...we did not want to miss the first Sunday of Advent). I had promised C a couple of Sundays off to focus on the house, but we both came to realize we REALLY miss our Church and our Church family.
We also found out this week that my mom would like to spend Christmas with us, which we are both very much excited about, however she will need to bring my two nieces with her. I only say "however" because I don't want them to be bored and the house is not really child ready, plus I need to find things for them to do (they will be here for two weeks). My daughter will also be coming, and my nieces like to hang around her a lot, but I think my kid wanted some "I want my mommy" time. I have to admit that C is ready and willing to handle however many guests we have, like C says, it will feel like Christmas.
Needless to say, C and I have a lot to do and a very small window frame in which to do it.
Tomorrow we are going to pick up a few things for the girls in the morning. After that we will probably have lunch with S's mom. She rarely sees the girls so I am kind of excited for her to see their progress. I am hoping to squeeze in some time with my family too.
We have cards to work on, I am behind because of the picture debacle, and I want to work on our outside decorations. We may cruise by the mall and let the girls peek at Santa, just to see if they are freaked out by him or not. If not, we will try for some pictures in the next week or so.
I may start some baking. I really want the house to smell like gingerbread cookies, it just sounds festive.

I am so ready for this weekend. The end of the work day can't come soon enough. DW's family is in town this weekend. We have plans to go to the city to see the National Christmas Tree, check out an ice show at a hotel in the area, and have a mini Thanksgiving dinner with DW's parents being that we spent turkey day with my family in FL.
Have a great weekend, ladies!
Yesterday, all day first aid/CPR/AED class.
Today, wedding reception for friends who recently got married in Connecticut. (I am really looking forward to our all being able to get married in DC--if nothing else, I'll get to see the actual ceremonies instead of just the receptions.)
