Anyone following the Amanda Knox trial?

We saw a Dateline about it last year and have been following it since. Very interesting...and I hope the jury finds her not guilty today! I can't imagine how scared she must be...she was tried and found guilty in the media there!

Anyone else follow it?

Re: Anyone following the Amanda Knox trial?

  • I've been reading about it, and what a scary situation!  I read a really damning article criticizing the way that the evidence was handled and the "experts" who testified that she must have been the killer, despite the evidence not supporting that claim.  I think the media really just latched onto a juicy scandal and presented the ending they wanted - Amanda as murderer - without taking all the facts into account.

  • I have been following it whenever it comes up- how terrifying. Scary enough to be accused of something, but then to have it under a system that you don't understand, etc.

I am praying that she will be able to come home today with her family.

  • They've had a lot of updates on this on the Today Show.  I can't imagine how scary it would be to be on trial in another country if you were innocent!  I think she is.  I also think it's amazing that she's done most of her communicating in Italian.  Hopefully they will find her innocent.  I heard it may be guilty and then they would do an appeal and let her go in a few years.  I heard that the government would do this to save face.  So scary.
  • I haven't followed it super close but enough to know that there are a lot of things that seem fishy on the part of saying she murdered her roommate. I thought it was crazy that they are using her fingerprints all over their room as evidence. Duh...she lived there....of course her fingerprints and hair and DNA will be all over the room.

  • WOW...she was found guilty on all charges!!!! OMG, unbelievable!!! Sentenced to 26 years in prison.

And yes...the guy that actually did this was found guilty a long time ago. He was a repeat offender and his DNA was all over the place. The evidence against her was so ridiculous!!

I hope the appeal process gives her justice! Poor thing!!
