Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
Hey Annie, I know you were looking into this. Is there a possibility that the text of emailed replies can be sent in the body of emails again in the future? Or is it gone for good? I had a much easier time moderating my boards when we had that option. I feel like I am always behind without it and miss so much.
Thank you!

Yeah, Little Sweetie, my local board is DEAD now because people don't follow along with anything. We used to have an extremely active local board...nicknamed "mini p&e"...before the switch, and now nobody posts anymore. I have had a few girls tell me it's because they used to read the responses, then log in and respond. Now they don't bother following the threads and don't pay attention to when someone replies. It's sad over there now.

Ditto - my board has dropped off too. There are still posts, but not like what it used to be

To be totally honest, this is a tough one for us b/c we realized tons and tons of lurkers would just get the text emailed to them and we'd lose out on so many people coming to TK because the text would arrive in your inbox. You could watch an entire board and then never again visit The Knot.
Now people know a response has been posted, but have to actually come to TK to see it. But, I think if the boards were faster (coming Wed) and they could reply from mobile devices, this would obviously have gone over more smoothly. Those two are our top priority and then we can see where we are with the text in the emails.
I don't think this is the case at all. By watching the threads in our emails, people are able to stay involved in everything with very little effort and are more likely to be engaged and come back and post. Instead, nobody notices when anybody replies and threads just die. I know I, for one, am probably on 1/10 as much as I used to be because of that!

AGREE. Watching the thread via email is taking baby steps into the Community. By not having the text of the replies emailed to you, you're asking people to plunge into the deep end and lurk on the boards (which might be uncomfortable) versus watch posts and get involved when they're ready.
I'm in marketing research, and when one of your users (or two HEAVY users) tell you how your product/service is being used, you listen. It's really hard for me to bite my tongue and watch the boards wither away - please take our notes to heart!

Umm...I replied to this thread and I don't know where it went.
My reply was much longer, but I just wanted to say I agree with these ladies.
