Pellet stove inserts for fireplaces
We are thinking about getting one for our wood burning fireplace. Does anyone have one or seen them used before? We are looking for alternative heat sources to oil.
Re: Pellet stove inserts for fireplaces
I haven't looked into it myself- but I have 5 neighbors who currently have stoves on order to be installed over the winter.
My DH's concern is that the price of pellets will ultimately rise with everything else (so we are waiting to watch the market). I have a gas fireplace (and I know propane is expensive) but we barley need to run it and it heats the house like a wood stove- so I plan to use that this winter (and lots of sweathsirts).
Good luck with your search- I have been hearing only great things about them and you can heat your house for 1/3 of the cost of oil.
