My H let them in and they talked for about an hour. Unfortunately I was still at work. There are many jewels from the conversation, but my favorite is when they were leaving and asked if they could come back, my H said, "No, I just don't think you've created enough interest for me."
In going through their pamphlet, I have learned I am headed to the terresterrial kingdom, where good people go who have not accepted Jesus as their Savior. This is an improvement from the Catholic religion, where I am pretty much doomed.
They also call these missionaries "elders." WTF? I cannot call a 20-year-old an elder.
Re: Those LDS guys came back

I have comments- but since we're in a public forum me =
A small part of H's extended family is LDS (the part we are not close with) and we have gotten into some gnarly conversation over this terrestial kingdom stuff. They don't share with us anymore
Here's my favorite gem from that side of the family though. Guess what H and I got as a wedding present from that side of the family? If you guessed a giant picture of Jesus Christ- pencil in a gold frame, you would be correct.
Now let me just say I am a Christian girl- just thought that was the most RANDOM gift ever. It's like they thought- they have a registry, but screw it- HERE'S WHAT THEY REALLY NEED!
Wow, that is quite the gift!
My grandmother gave me a crucifix for my wedding. That's probably the only time I will write, "Thank you for the beautiful crucifix."
They do, I think. They have "degrees of glory." Celestial Kingdom is for those who accept Jesus Christ. Terrestrial Kingdom is for those who have lived a good life but have not accepted Jesus Christ. There is reference made that you can somehow get to the celestial kingdom if you're in terrestrial...maybe it's like Purgatory? The Telestial Kingdom, I think, is hell. It just says people who sin AND reject Jesus go there, but there are no descriptions of fire and brimstone.
Oh, WAIT! I was wrong! All those kingdoms are levels of heaven. LDS believe most people will be saved, except those who commit the "unpardonable sin" which is to receive the Holy Spirit and then knowingly reject it.
I am pretty confused, but in short, they believe almost EVERYONE gets into some level of heaven, and in fact your entire life, who you were surrounded with, your circumstances, etc., will determine what level of heaven you get into.
I am tempted to call our Elders to clear this up, but that's probably not a good idea.
