Carrots and tomatoes

I'm in zone 7 and the temperatures are mostly below freezing now.  I still have quite a few carrots and tomatoes growing outside - should I pick everything now before they die from the cold?  They don't seem to be bothered too much but I doubt my tomatoes will get much bigger given the lack of sunlight and heat now.

Re: Carrots and tomatoes

  • You don't have to unless you're expecting a hard freeze.  You can let them grow, but because of the cooler temps they will be smaller and slow to ripen.
