Dark Knight **no spoilers**

B and I saw the midnight show with some friends last night and I just thought I'd report back . . . .

. . . that it's RIDICULOUSLY GOOD!!  I wanted to see it , don't get me wrong, but mostly because it was a summer blockbuster, not because I'm some huge comic/Batman fan.  But I was amazed at the acting and the story.  It was a little long which was pretty much my only complaint.  And the chase/fight scenes could have been shorter but that's just my preference.  And when they said that Heath Ledger was amazing, they were understating it.  From his voice to his body language to everything. . . I swear, I almost couldn't tell it was him.  I sat there trying to see "through" his performance and catch a glimpse of "Heath."  Couldn't do it.  His performance was phenomenal.  I hate that this is one of his last movies.  Sad  This is definitely a must see!

  • LayneNP,thanks for the feedback.  I'm actually going to see it at 410 at WPV.  I'm excited because everyone that's seen it says Heath's performance is amazing.  Give you my update when I get back!

  • OMG this is just making me that much more excited!!
  • Yay! Hubbie bought tix for the 8pm show today and I really wasn't looking forward to it until now...

I didn't know if they hyped it up or if it was really that good.

  • We're on our way to see it in a little bit.  I hope I don't have to take too many potty breaks because I've been dying to see this movie!

  • Wow it sounds great!
  • I might have to convince the hubby who is not a "going to the movie" type of hubby to go see it. I loved Heath...so sad to see him gone. You are the third person today that has told me how good it was!

    ?

  • Just got back a little while ago from seeing the movie.  Whoah!  It is very disturbing and has many subplots and twists.  Its definitely a psychological thriller and plays on lots of themes we can relate to today.

I can honestly say I was a bit disturbed after watching it and thinking Heath Ledger is mad!  Not mad like angry, mad like raving crazy mad!  You really don't even see him in the character.  He completely transforms.

I really think he could win an oscar for that role.  I seriously think that he's played one of the most memorable, evil, and psychotic villains I've seen in a while.  Too bad he's not around anymore to continue on with other great performances such as this.

Hope everyone gets to see it.  My hubby and I want to go see it again in IMAX.  I heard six of the best scenes were shot in IMAX and it looks amazing in it.  Its def a movie you have to see again to get all the little things in it.

In one eerie part the Joker says something like "It takes just a small push to push someone over the edge" or something like that.  And you can tell everyone was just like whoah.  Definitely a must see.

  • I agree with the positive reviews...it was an awesome movie!  You would really have no idea it was Heath Ledger because he played the part so well.
  • We just back from the movie as well!  I have to agree with all the reviews..it was THE BEST BATMAN MOVIE yet!  If they are smart they will kill off the joker.....not just because of Heath, I think they will never find someone ANYONE  to play that part as good as he did.  He was better then Jack.  IMO.

    This is a must see!

  • I saw it yesterday, too. Amazing! A must-see. I wasn't quite prepared for how long of a movie it was though.

I need going in it was long....but it was still reeeeeeeeeally hard on the bladder ;)

  • MrsM - You are definitely right about the "disturbing" part.  I remember looking away at parts because it was so disturbing knowing what they would do and having to wait to see them do it.  I do appreciate, though, that they were never gratuitous with the gore.  It was suggested or implied but they never showed the audience.  I appreciated that.  Again, Heath's performance was spectacular.  Makes me even more sad that he's gone.
