For my upcoming 30th birthday, my DH was trying to be nice and surprised me with a girls getaway at Peak n Peak. We are supposed to be arriving next Saturday, spending the day at the spa, stay the night and then come back on Sunday. Sounds great except for the fact that I have complete anxiety about the whole spa thing. I've never had anything more than a pedicure done - and I kept my clothes on for that. I do not want to walk around in a robe and I certainly don't want anyone seeing me naked. I don't even like to go out in public in a bathing suit.
The package he got includes a facial, foot treatment, mosturizing body wrap and a back neck and shoulder massage. The body wrap is what has me most aprehensive. Are you naked under there? Do you have to wear those robes or can you just wear your clothes?
I'm not trying to sound snotty, but I have no idea why he would get this for me. It's not something I'm even remotely interested in and I feel bad telling him that I absolutely hate his idea for my birthday. So any help in possibly easing my concerns would be appreciated.
Re: Spa questions
My DH got something similar for me and I went to the spa with a friend a few weeks ago. For ours, we changed into a robe when we first got there. I got a body wrap, a hydrobath, and a massage. For the body wrap, I was naked. However, you are always covered with towels, and you can tell the person applying it how comfortable you are with it. For example, I had a mud wrap, and the girl applying it asked me if I wanted it on my stomach. If I didn't, I would have had a towel over my midsection the entire time.
There is never a moment when you are naked in front of someone, they leave the room when you're getting onto and off a table, and they're very trained in moving the towels and sheets around so they don't get a look at you.
