What to pack for SD?

I'll be going to San Diego in a few weeks (Aug 12) and am wondering if you ladies can tell me what to pack! I'm thinking its sort of always jeans and a light top weather. Also thinking the bars and clubs aren't terribly dressy like LA would be. Is this right? Thanks!!

Re: What to pack for SD?

  • Lately it hasn't been too bad, but I'm more of a shorts girl during the summer.  Jeans can get really hot sometimes.  Also I wear flip flops pretty much everywhere.

I don't go to the clubs much but the couple of times I have I just went in a skirt and tank top.  Nothing fancy at all.

And don't forget your swim suit!!!

  • Ditto PP.  This summer hasn't been terribly hot so I've mostly worn jeans, t-shirts, knit dresses, flip flops and sandals.
  • I agree. I would pack some shorts too. Capri's, tanks and summer dresses. Bring a light sweater as sometimes the nights can be a little cool. August is usually hotter and although our weather is pretty stable there is the occassional hot day.

As far as the clubs, it depends where you go. If you go downtown the attire is more dressier. If you are in the beach town it is much more casual.

  • ditto SDJuneBride. Downtown a lot of the clubs have dresscodes. And definitely bring some shorts, skirts or capris and flip flops.
