So...I was looking at the emergency vets in the area just to have on hand in case we have an emergency...and I was perusing their websites. Well, I found this on the Dove Lewis one... http://dovelewis.org/programs/Blood_Bank.aspx
I would totally do this with Coco, but she was pregnant and had puppies before we rescued her. It looks awesome...plus it looks like the first time you get a free physical...plus it looks like if you agree and do it for 3 years, they give you free heartworm preventative (which if you have a dog...you know that it adds up!) --- and your dog gets a toy every time he/she goes in!
Anyway...just thought I'd post it out there for anyone interested..looks like your dog has to be 55 pounds or more and 1-6 years old
Oh, and not to mention...it'd for a great cause!
Re: Is your dog a candidate for blood donation?
Learning to start all over again... Blog
We looked into this for Blue, but he's only 45 lbs.
With all of Leo's issue, I wonder if he'd even be a candidate.
That and, the fact that last time we needed a blood sample, it took me, DH and two techs to hold him down so the doc could draw a tiny vial.
Yep-all 86lbs of him.
you would know...have you SEEN my coco's nips? hahaha. her nipples would be huge..well enlarged. coco's were huge when we first got her, now they're just sort-of huge lol

Wow! I thought Nandi's were big. It seems that she was probably not KU, then.
OMG your sig pictures are too darn cute!
My dog's only 15 lbs. No blood donor for her.
I have therapy dog info if you dont already have some. I'm also a certified CGC evaluator and having a test on the 8th of Jan. It isnt a therapy dog cert, but its one step closer.
