Here's the question before I forget it (this is about the third time I've thought of it but never come back to post it):
Do you give your stylist/aesthetician/manicurist/etc an extra tip during the holidays? If so, approximately how much (or how much more than you normally would)?
I'm getting my hair cut & colored next week - I want to say last time it was $90 with tip (so ~$75-80, I think.) I'll also be seeing my aesthetician two days before Christmas for waxing. All said, I'm charged $37; this past time I gave her a $10 tip because she gave me a free paraffin hand dip while I was there.
Thoughts?
Re: Holiday Tips
I tip my hair stylist really well around Christmas time, but I've been going to him for a couple of years now. I generally tip him $8 (~20% on a $42 cut) but I'll give him a $20 when I see him on Weds...maybe some cookies too if I have time to bake tomorrow night.
My manicurist changes all the time and I usually see whoever's there. For that, I tip based on service, but it's been months and months since i've had a manicure...I'll decide on this next week when I go.
Aestetician, never gone around Christmas, but I'd prob give her a little more than usual.

I'm really glad to hear you say this because I'd intended to do this as well, but thought people would give me a
look.
