Who do you think is going to win the Heisman?

McCoy?

Tebow?

Suh?

Ingram?

Other?  Why?

Re: Who do you think is going to win the Heisman?

  • I think if it were between Tebow and Ingram, Ingram would win it. But since McCoy has had a ridiculous season, I think he wins over Ingram, but not by much. I just think the first place votes are going to go his way.
  • Ingram, but Suh should.

I think you'd be surprised. The buzz on Suh right now is ridiculous - can't go on any sports board without him being talked about.

I guess I should feel a little more upbeat about it.  Everyone said there was no way a sophomore would ever win, and Tebow did!

I'm just not sure a defensive player will ever win the Heisman.

  • After this past weekend, Ingram. I don't know what I'll do if Tebow wins...that would be a joke. Suh is pretty amazing, too, and I'd love to see him beat the odds and win it.

  • First, let me say that I think the Heisman trophy is a joke. They rarely look at non-major conference team players. Secondly, I'm not sure I'd ever want to win the Heisman trophy. Maybe 1/4 of them go on to have successful football careers - probably not even that many. I think it's some weird curse haha. There's too much hype over an award that doesn't even look at all players in NCAA football. Just had to get that off my chest haha :)

With all that said, I think Suh or Ingram will get it - both are deserving of it. Andy Dalton has had amazing stats this year - specifically his QB rating, TD v. Int. ratio, etc. Toby Gerhart and CJ Spiller are both deserving as well (Gerhart more so). Great stats - no fumbles, awesome yards per rush, one has great receiving yards, etc. However, their teams have lost some games and apparently, losing more than 4 or 5 games automatically disqualifies you from winning that award.

  • Tera, did you see this?  Kim posted it on Omaha.

    Suh and Gerhart!

  • I'd like to see McCoy get it. Or maybe Suh. I definitely don't want Ingram to get it!

Although....it is rare for a Heisman winner to perform well in the game after the trophy is given out so if that means Ingram won't play well in the championship and Alabama loses, I guess I'm ok with that!

  • My gut's saying McCoy or Ingram.  This isn't just Tebow hate here, but I think his chances of winning are slim-to win it twice, he'd have to have a stellar season and while he's had a great season I don't think it's enough.

    I agree

I don't think Teabow even gets invited quite honestly. Oh who am I kidding he will, but I think there are others who are more deserving.

  • Suh should but I think it will be Ingram or Gerhart.

  • McCoy.

I don't think Tebow was going to get it anyway, but he blew any chance in ATL.  I also think it's BS that it's awarded before the season is over.  Wait til the bowl games are played.  Then we'll see who is really spectacular.  If there's any question between Ingram and McCoy, that should settle it.

  • I think McCoy will get it, but I would love for Suh to get it.

Ingram's made a great case this year, but I would put Suh over him right now - that man is a BEAST. Tebow still had an outside shot going into the SEC Championship, but that lost put him out. I'm pretty sure he'll be invited to the trophy presentation, but he definitely won't get it.

I think it's dumb that the Heisman's awarded before season's truly over, too. That should wait until after the NC.

  • Until Florida's game against Bama, I would have said Tebow.  Now I'm going with Ingram 100%.

This is why I hate the Heisman. It's a popularity contest.

  • I would love to see Suh win!

He's guaranteed an invite...just like every other former Heisman winner.  Smile

Anyway, I'd love to see Suh win it.  Ingram probably should win it.  Still, I THINK it will be Colt.  Lame, but that pretty much guarantees he'll choke come NC time.  Heh.
