How are you liking working at Headstart?
Re: * Micaela *
hi! you caught me on a "participatory" night
i LOVE working for headstart. i think i'll be perfectly happy to continue there until i'm ready to (hopefully) quit work for good and be a full time mom. i love that management leaves me alone for the most part and i have the freedom to set my own schedule, manage my own responsibilities and do my own paperwork in my own time. it's rather unheard of and i don't take it for granted, that's for sure! the kiddos are fun and challenging and i'm learning a LOT actually. i was sick this week and so i missed my first IFSP writing meeting (grr..) but i'm enjoying collaborating with early intervention and the school programs too. it makes me realize just how many resources are available in our community and as time progresses i'm able to network with more people in that way.
i've been sick much more, but i'm hoping my immune system is almost up to speed with all the newest germs by this point.. haha!
thanks for asking
I know, the germ thing stinks, but hopefully you will build up your immunity soon! I also love setting my own schedule (around a few fixed meetings and eval spots). Do you do early head start? I haven't run into any kids in that program here, can kids be in both EI and EHS? We do refer a lot of kids to Headstart for PK though. Glad you have found something more fulfilling than annuities, or whatever you were doing!
