AHHH I'm so excited, I know this is better suited for the "buying a house" board, but I actually know some of you guys and I'm about to burst!
Zach is talking to his supervisor today about his future at his current job. It was a 90 day temp-to-hire position and he's just about to the 90 days. They're already training him for things coming up in October, so it seems pretty evident that they will be keeping him on... Also his supervisor told him how impressed the president of the company is with him so we feel pretty secure about it, but at the same time it'll be good to actually get the offer letter before we make the offer.
Anyway the house is 3 years old and is near five-forks (We may be neighbors MRSD07!) It's a 2 story 3br 2.5 bath home with a large bonus room and double-car garage. The lawn needs a LOT of TLC, but the inside is completely move-in-ready with hardwood floors in the living room...
I'm SOOO excited sorry to clog the board with junk, but it's not like we'd be solving world hunger on here if I weren't gushing about the house right???
Anyway if anyone is interested, I'll keep you all updated And if by chance we get the house, once I have furniture for it (which could take years haha) I'd love to host a Nestie get together to show it off!!! Maybe Tiffany (LIAngel) can lead us in a Bunko night!
Re: Making an offer on a house today!!!!
Whooo hoooooo! That is awesome! Congrats and I hope all goes well. Keep us updated!
Also, how did bunco go the other night?
Have a great Monday!!!!
Starz, Bunko/Bunco was GREAT I had a blast! *fingers crossed* if things work out with this house I'd LOVE to have you all over so we can try our hand at it ourselves... at first I was thinking I'd have to furnish the whole place first, bur really it's probably better to not have the place crowded with furniture since we'll need to set up 3 card tables anyway
MRSD07, it's in Windsor Forrest.
That's soo great!!!! Windsor Forrest is less than 4 miles from our house!!! We'll definitely be able to catch up more often if that works out!!!
Definitely keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!!
LOL. That, and we can have you two over to sit on our invisible patio set-waiting to hear back from someone on Craigslist-that's my only fingers crossed thing right now.
It'd be great to have you all living in this area though-soo much fun!!! :-)
Have a great afternoon!!!
MRSD07, I have a camping chair I can bring over while we enjoy your invisible patio furniture! oh wait... I think that's going to be part of my invisible living room suit
That might be an idea. LOL We have rocking chairs and a few patio chairs but we're still on the lookout for a patio table. Besides-we definitely don't want to break down your living room suit. ;-)
We'll definitely catch up more often regardless.
Please let me know how things pan out!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!
Let me know how it goes!!!
OK so here's what has happened so far.
8:00 PM We made an offer of 92% of the asking price.
9:00 PM They countered at 98.2% of asking price
9:30 PM we countered at 95.2% of asking price.
and now... we hear nothing.
So I have it narrowed down to a few things.
1. they're walking away
2. they're thinking about it
3 they went to bed.
I'm hoping for 2 or 3 personally... ugh my stomache is in knots though.
It's almost 9:00 am and still no word! Darn these people and their vicious mind games!
In our original offer we put in at 8:00 pm they had until 8:00 pm tomorrow... we were told they agreed to all of the terms of the contract except price... so I'm guessing that means that they are still agreeing to give us an answer by 8:00 pm today... only 11 more hours!!!
My cousin suggested they may be hoping that we'll sweat it out through the night and just meet their offer this morning.... NOT going to happen... I'm impatient, but I'm stubborn! But if that's their plan to try to get us to just come back with a higher offer on our own this morning... nice try.
I like that they must be at least thinking about it though.
People can be really finicky when it comes to the price of something-esp the price of a house. Hopefully they're just considering your offer on a very molecular level-thus their need to drag out this process even more. I'll keep my fingers crossed that when I get back from the gym tonite (it'll be around 8 or so) that you've heard something back and posted the result here.
Good Luck!!!
WE GOT THE HOUSE!!! WHOOO HOO!
I mean I know we still have to get through inspections etc but this morning they accepted the offer we made last night!!!!
I don't think they were thrilled about it but our agent let them know it was the best we could do.
Not to talk numbers, but I HAVE to brag, we got the house for 28,000 LESS than the original asking price!
*fingers crossed* that the inspections etc go well.
YAY!!!!! That's awesome!!!!!! I'm soo psyched for you two!!!
Congratulations!!!
Thanks ladies! I'll be devastated if something goes wrong in the meantime!
*fingers crossed*
Our closing date is Aug. 21.
For those of you who have purchased homes before, when do we need our downpayment, the day we close??? I'm having to have it electronically transferred from my mutual fund with Fidelity and they said it could take 7-10 days.
