Hey Ladies.. I'm new..
well, not yet new to SD. Hubby and I are moving there in March. He's in the Navy and getting stationed at 32nd Street Base.
What's some good apartments? Places to stay away from? We do have 1 child...
So, fill me in on the in's and out's of SD.

Hello. That is my DH's home base as well. We live in Scripps Ranch. If you want to email me, I will share with you my "stay-away from list". I dont want to post it here for fear of offending anyone that may live in one of those areas.

Anyway, San Diego is a really nice place. Most areas are safe and there are very few to worry about. I'm not personally a fan of National City. I have a friend who lives there and nothing has ever happened to me or anyone I know there, but it just feels unsafe. I also found Vista to be a little sketchy (my area of it anyway- North of the 76) but that's pretty far away for your husband.
Otherwise I've lived in Clairemont, Crest, and Otay Ranch (Chula Vista) and have enjoyed them and felt safe. My car got broken into once in Clairemont, but that sort of thing can happen anywhere in SD.
I think that we are going to be living in Bayview. The lady we talked to today said that it's 5 miles from base, and it looks really nice online.
I know its a military housing though.. so we'll see.

Bayview is in a nice area, but I can't tell you about the housing.
I'm sure you'll love it, though. Are you coming for a visit before moving out?
Yes! We'll be moving in Feb, so I'll be out there in Jan most likely. I know my husband wants to check the area out and we have to sign paperwork and such!
