Hi All,
I got married last weekend (11/28) but am not changing my name until we get back from our honeymoon on 12/28. I'm hoping to go to the SS office on 1/2, then go right to the DMV to do my drivers license.
My question is: if I go to the SS office, do they print the card right then or do I have to wait?

Just adding another detail--you should get like 2-3 copies of your marriage certificate that week after you get back as you will need it to change stuff at your bank, sometimes for credit cards, mortgage, all that stuff. It's actually really annoying! I still have not changed my United Mileage Plus because they want me to fax or mail them a copy of the ML and I just have not had time. (I've been married over a year now and there are still some things in my maiden name!)
Good luck my dear!
I took my marriage license to both the DMV and the Social Security office to change the documents over. Go to the Express DMV too. It took me less than 10 minutes to get my new license.
I have a wonderful personal banker who changed over my bank accounts and credit cards in one fell swoop. It's alot easier to work with one person on it than having to call the various places about it.
