deleting vendors?

We've been getting a lot of brand new brides (vendors?) with 1 post total - posting a review about a vendor on our board... most of which seem like an ad.

We've tried the please tell us about your other vendors spiel and nothing. If they have more than 1 post, its always the same post over and over...

are we able to delete these posts or do we leave it at asking them to tell us more about their wedding and other vendors they used?

Re: deleting vendors?

  • Are they only reviewing one vendor?  When this happens on my board, I leave it up for a day or two to see if they respond to the "tell us more about your wedding" and if they don't I delete it.  Usually I'll get a response from some of the girls on my board thanking my for taking it off.  But I always try to wait and give them some time to respond just in case.

  • If they post it on multiple boards, you can delete it because of spam.

  • Ask Annie to check the email address associated with the account/screenname to see if it has any connection with the vendor.  If you get a review by Sept09Bride that is about Fab Alterations, and the email address is sue@fabalterations.com, it's pretty easy to draw the conclusion that Sept09Bride is actually the vendor.

  • And, since the posts are dying/you can't get the response emailed to you, it's conceivable that the OP isn't checking back to review the rest of their vendors like you've suggested - so they could be legit but just unengaged with the board.
