Northeast Girls - snow?

holy crap - where did all this snow come from?!?!  as of last night the weather in my area called for "a dusting".  I was shocked when i woke up this morning to at least 3 inches with more coming down by the minute.  It looks beautiful, but the roads are awful and its so messy. by the time i got to work i was soaked. ugh.

how much did you get in your area?

Re: Northeast Girls - snow?

  • We had snow until yesterday.  However, it changed to rain last night, and that washed all the snow away.

I have to say, I love living in a place that has occasional snow, but not constant snow all winter.

  • We're not getting any accumulation here!  When we left home at 7:00 (C had an early meeting) it was snowing in our neighborhood, but by the time we got into the city, it was pretty much rain.  The city is getting a rain/snow mix, so we're supposed to have an accumulation of slush... Ew.

  • I woke up to what they are reporting to be 5" of snow! I knew it was coming but didn't expect that much!  It's still coming down pretty hard and is now turning to ice pellets - geez, great Confused

The roads are a huge mess but I made it to my dentist appt at 8am and work by 9:30.

  • Like 2dbride - rain, rain, and more rain. I hate rain.  I did hear it sleeting at some point during the night, but it was long gone with the torrential downpours of this morning.

I was kinda hoping for snow/sleet/ice - anything to delay school a couple of hours. I really needed a lazy morning this morning.

I'll send more pictures your way later today - then you can decide if jealousy is the right wordWink It's pretty for sure but not fun.  Especially when you have to shovel a 100ft drive way in the dark.  I'm so not looking forward to that.

It actually got down to 30 degrees here last night. That is pretty cold for us. Unheard of! I was so excited and kept checking to see if we had any snow. S thought I was crazy.

Everyone please stay safe and warm.

  • 5 inches topped by freezing rain. Every one of the dayshift was late to my job so I didn't get home until after eight.

  • We just missed it, instead getting torrential downpours overnight and for most of the morning. Many inches leading to flash flood warning throughout the area. Ugh.

Its actually sunny and a mild 55* right now, which is crazy... but I'm going to enjoy it since they are calling for it to be in the 30s the rest of the week!

  • Here in Iowa we've been DUMPED on. I mean most major businesses are closed, Julie hasn't been to work for the last two days. It's really crappy, and the winds are expected to pick up to over 50mph tonight. UGH!
