My most recent daydream...
-i get accepted to NYU's Masters in Dance Education program next Fall, graduating in Dec 2011
-i get an amazing teaching job with ABT or NYCB for a few years
-maybe i get another job with The Joffrey in Chicago, maybe travel to other famous ballet companies
-all the while, DH is doing more shows with his theatre company, and writing more plays (and he'd come with me to Chicago and to international destinations)
-after a few years we move to my hometown in NM and buy a great little house and i help the dance studio i grew up in become even more successful! I'll take over the ballet classes for the older girls and help choreograph Nutcracker and other ballet shows
-DH starts working with my former directing professor/mentor on shows and then he/they start a theatre festival that gets world recognition!!
-as a team, we turn Las Cruces, NM into an up and coming theatre/dance/arts mecca that everyone wants to be involved in!
-oh yeah, maybe have 2-3 kids ![]()
What's your daydream?
Re: I'm in Daydream Land...come join me!!
Mine are generally revolving around:
a vacation
a smaller dress size
great hair
warm weather
like lori, most of my daydreams involve a smaller dress size. they also involve having a metabolism that allows me to maintain that smaller dress size with little to no effort and lots of wine
all of my daydreams involve us living in london for most of the year, with weekend trips to prague, rome, barcelona, etc... and summers in rhode island *sigh*
and since we're dreaming, i'd obviously have an apartment in nyc for when i need to feel like a new yorker again.
DH publishes his book and I figure out how to make and market the baby invention I have been inventing in my head (can't say it here, it's too good
) and neither one of us has to work if we don't want to.
Probably would like a brownstone in Park Slope for when we aren't galavanting around and showing little B. the world.
Ooh, a smaller dress size and eating whatever i want!! YES!!
I also daydream of owning a brownstone in Bklyn...

I get KU'd this cycle, have a beautiful baby and return to the dress size I was in college instantaneously!
We miraculously have enough money to do all the reno's on our house that we want to - turn the basement into a guest bedroom, add a half bath (hey, if this is a daydream, make it a full bath!), completely gut and redo the kitchen, and redo the bathroom. Oh, and replace the skylight.
Then, three years after the first, we have another baby and buy a bigger house that doesn't need any fixing up.
AND I get a raise to double my salary because I am just awesome. DH is awesome too, so he gets the same.
All throughout this, we are traveling all over the world - going on that Alaskan cruise, going to Costa Rica, Brazil, India, and an African Safari - of course.
Ooh ooh, I want to play.
I get offered the position that I really want at my current organization, with the pay increase that comes with it.
DH also gets a raise.
The renovations are completed by this weekend and I can start enjoying this house.
I do one round of lupron (3 months) and miraculously get pregnant afterwards.

DH gets a super amazing raise this year which will bring us so much closer to saving up for a down payment for our (you guessed it!) park slope brooklyn brownstone. I'll settle for duplex or nice 2bd apartment also.
We have a really really nice kitchen to cook and socialize in in this new home that we OWN.
That this upcoming "labor day" will be oh so smooth, and while challenging, will be as quick as my sister and my mother's labors! (under 6hrs, yes please!)
traveling more would be so nice. I have so many destinations I want to visit.
Nice daydreams ladies!!
Oh, and while i'm at it, i want to be able to afford *EVERY SINGLE ITEM OF CLOTHING* from Anthropolgie.
