We are a little late with this today...any one have a QOTD? What are your updates?
Re: PCP/TTC/ATP Wednesday
Sometimes things just don't work out as planned.
lol...
Our plan for this cycle was to do b2b iui's. We're using a ovaque monitor, so I'm pretty confident that I will reach peak fertility this weekend. We planned for a Saturday and Sunday iui. Well, I just found out that our clinic isn't able to do iuis this Sunday because someone is going to be out of the office. Ha! Go figure! And of course I found this out after I paid for two vials!
But.... I'm not gonna stress about it. I remember TWB saying at some point that she always ordered two vials just in case one didn't look as good. And our RE can store the vial we won't be using for only $30, so that's a good deal.
I have no idea what will happen if we are fortunate enough to get pregnant after the first try, but we'll just cross that bridge if we are lucky enough to get to it. That's certainly something that I refuse to let myself worry about!
We're only just starting this process and I already feel like I'm learning some big lessons on patience and flexibility.
Other than my vent on the Parenting board about naming, things are going well. The paint will be on the walls of the nursery by this weekend. I'm feeling good. And K is really interacting with the baby more. I don't have much to complain about other than not having fleece lined maternity pants to wear to work.
Speaking of Two painting, what about this for the QOTD (has this been asked?):
What wall color and/or "theme" is/will your nursery/baby's room be?
We painted the current guestroom/future baby's room a nice shade of green, not too pale, not to dark. It works really well with the furnature in there now and I think will work well for a baby of any sex (we aren't planning on finding out). Our "theme" will be loosely based on travel and I already have most of it planned and some of the pieces purchased.
Update: Focusing on the house. Still planning on resuming ttc in 2010, but no date set.
It's been a while since I have chimed in.
Maggie is now 11 months. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. She is walking like a champ and trying to run (and falling often). She love to look in the mirror and chant, "baby, baby, baby." She is beginning to follow simple instructions and is so proud of herself for doing so. She is also beginning to assert her will and gets really angry when we have to take things away from her. She is at such a cute age and each day I fall more madly in love.
Maggie sounds adorable.
We inseminated this week, so now I'm entering our first TWW. It all feels a little surreal. One of my closest friends got a BFP this week, and is really pushing for us to get pregnant "yesterday" so I keep telling her we're trying...
QOTD: We won't have a true nursery. We plan to co-sleep, if possible, so not planning a "bedroom" for the baby. Our house has a funny layout, too. There is a large space between the two bedrooms, which is currently my craft space. We'll probably use that a "baby space", rather than lose a guest room, and then move my craft stuff into the guest room. It's currently red/yellow/black with a sort of Mary Englebreit theme, and could switch over to some kid prints fairly easy. We've seen a vintage circus print we like, and may use that. We're hoping between co-sleeping and a play room we can hold off needing a true kid bedroom for a while. We'll see how it works in reality!
19 weeks along now, and I can't believe it! I've got one active baby growing in me - I'm feeling so many bumps and kicks now! I'm hoping C will be able to feel one soon - we tried last night, but of course the whole time she had her hand on my belly the baby was quiet - figures! We're both getting so excited for our u/s on Monday!! We can't wait to see the baby again, and hopefully find out the sex!

Blogs: Our Growing Family - CT Working Moms

My children have apparantly lost their hearing. We have to repeat everything 1001x. And they have picked up "shut up" and "dum dum" from their friend at school. Lovely. They have already lost privelages for saying it after being told not to. Now they just try to just say it for fun (Last night on the way home, Carter said, "How do you say shut up in Spanish?") LOL
Last night we were up with Carter at midnight, 3:30am, and 5:45am with him coughing so hard that he threw up in our bed. Lovely. We are all exhausted (well, not Gray since he slept in his bed all night!) He did end up going to school since he didn't have a fever and was running around the house this morning like a mad man.
This morning L looked at me and said, "I thought this parenting thing was going to get easier."
But Carter is wonderfully into Christmas and Santa. A friend gave us book and doll of The Elf on the Shelf and they are loving finding the elf each morning (he moves around the house after going back to the North Pole to report back to Santa every night.)
QOTD: We did a nautical theme. The bottom half is white and then the top half is sea blue (the 'line' the separates it is wavy.) L's mom is an artist and hand painted fish in reds, greens, and oranges above the border and we used this bedding (although there is none it left anymore since they are in toddler beds with big fleece blankets.) I am tired of it - but it is there to stay until we either move or we split the kids up and redo both rooms.
Sorry to hear this. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
