I loved the movie Business of Being Born, I knew a lot all ready, but it really opened my eyes. Look like there is a birth center in Redlands:

http://sites.google.com/site/birthcentersite/facility

Doesn't look like they have the tubs though for the waterbirth...

This is the place I am going to:

http://www.aquanatalbirthcenter.com/home.php

I love it! They are so nice, helpful, and spend a lot of time talking to you, letting you ask questions. Appts are about every 2-3 weeks and about a 1/2 hour long, not the 5 minutes you get at the reg. doctor. There global fee is $5000, but they bill your insurance at the end and you get some of it back (complicated, we can talk more if you interested). It is all inclusive fee, including all your prenatal, birth, post partum. It also includes your birthing class, massage and some organic products like teas, creams, etc.

 There is also this place:

http://www.naturalwaterbirth.com

which is in Whittier. There global fee is $6,000 but doesn't include the birthing class or massage. My friend had a baby there in July and loved it. It was her second water birth.

I have been using:

http://www.fairhavenhealth.com/pregnancy-tea.html

http://www.fairhavenhealth.com/pregplus-prenatal.html

both recommended by the midwife and love the products. Use coupon code DecSavings for 10% off your order. Also they sell a fertiltea which is great and seems to work for everyone that tries it if you know anyone who is still trying. Ok, I think I talked your ear off, Best of luck! If you have questions about aquanatal or the place in Whittier let me know!

  • Thanks for the information!

I am still kinda more in the research phase of what my options are. I think we will probably go with delivering at our local hospital though. I just want be educated and make the right decision for us instead of just following the crowd. You know what I mean? If I have any questions, I will let you know.
