Need church help

Dh and I moved to the northern suburbs a few months ago (from MN) and are having the hardest time finding a contemporary church. Everything is so traditional and isn't what we're used to.

Any recs?

Thanks!

Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! Re: Need church help

  • I love Holy Family in Inverness.  It is a Catholic church, but is very contemporary.  We moved a couple towns over and sampled many churches and nothing compared.

  • Hi there,

I'm not sure which suburb you're in, but before moving...my husband and I used to attend the Fellowship Church of Carol Stream. (Carol Stream is a Northwest suburb) We loved it there. They are mostly contemporary, but occasionally toss in a 'jazzed up' hymn for tradition's sake. It's a Christian non-denominational church and their website is www.myhomechurch.org Pastor Phil is one of the best preachers in the world. His sermons are always so genuine and applicable to real life. If it's not too far, I would definitely suggest checking them out! Hope that helps!

  • The Chapel is a great contemporary church. There are actually 4 campuses: Grayslake, Libertyville, Barrington, and Mundelein. I've really enjoyed it, the couple of times I've gone. DH and I live in Chicago, so the drive is a little much. Good luck!
  • New Life Church might be a good one to try.?

Here is the website- they have a few different locations-
