I was helping some friends renovate their home last weekend, which involved a lot of sanding.  I was stupid and didn't wear gloves - my fingernails got sooo damaged!  I clipped them down, but the tips are still peeling a little bit.  Do you know of a good product to protect them until they heal?

Hey woman, next time wear gloves!!! :)You can file the top of you nail bed with a fine file to get rid of the damaged layer.  Any nail strengthening polish will do, hard as nails (I think) green box from walmart is good, it's like a gel coating, or you can go to a salon and get an acrylic overlay to strengthen your nails too.  If that is too much effort, you can just leave your nails alone and let them grow out until they are better  you'd be surprised how quickly they will heal, especially if you are taking vitamins.  GNC and walmart has vitamins specifically for nails and hair strength and growth, it does wonders.   Hope that helps

Nail Tek XTRA Nail Strengthener, this is what we use in the salon for natural nails

 

I've used this one before and it works pretty good...can't seem to find the one I mentioned in my previous post, but it was a green box with a picture of a finger opening a soda can.  But like I said anything stating nail strengthener will work...Sally Hansen has great products to.
