Do you write on your photo Xmas cards?

This may be an odd question but I was wondering if you write on your xmas cards when you do a picture card? It says on it "Merry Christmas from the newlyweds!" with our names......

I've seen some people write a little note on the front of them with a black marker or something. Would you???

 Thanks!

Re: Do you write on your photo Xmas cards?

  • I've never written on my photo cards.
  • I try to write something - I really hate getting cards that have NO personal writing on them at all.  I love photo cards, butI just feel they make people really lazy.

lol it's either lazy or nothing from me, so I'll take lazy :)  But we also send out 100+ cards every year, so it'd be like wedding time all over again if I had to write on all of them.

  • This year - I actually didn't have anything extra printed on our photo cards because I wanted to write on them! I think it adds a nice personal touch. I'm just using a nice dark thin pen/marker to write a few words and sign our names. If people don't write anything I almost feel like I'm just getting a peice of mass-mail. (Though I do appreciate the gesture and seeing their photos!)

  • FYI - I send out 70 - 80 cards so it's certainly not as many as some people's lists.

  • Thanks for your inputs!

    What do you write?

  • I would write on the back of the car.  Or I know some people type up letters and print them out. Just a short note saying what has happened in your life this year.
  • I didn't. I thought about writing a little message on the back as I would if I sent a plain card, but I decided against it. It already took me 4 hours to hand write the addresses.
  • We do for only our closest friends/family (about ten people out of 100)...and I write the note on the back of the card with a thin Sharpie, so my ugly handwriting doesn't spoil the pretty design on the front.
  • I receive photo cards from some people who write on them with a sharpie, but I don't.

The only time I've done that was to a friend who lives overseas as a little extra note to her.

  • I did not write on ours that we just sent out. If you wanted to write a note, you could attach a separate card or piece of paper with a note maybe? But, I don't think you would need to write on your card necessarily.
