romantic restaurant with atmosphere

Hi all, my DH and I are coming to Chicago this weekend, and I'd like to make a reservation for a nice dinner somewhere. I'd like it to be a nice romantic place but also fun, with atmosphere, trendy, etc. Expensive is fine. In a fun part of town if possible, so we can wander around with locals!

LadyChicago, I've looked through your bio, and read Yelp, etc. and have narrowed it down. Any thoughts? Other suggestions are great as well. He's not a big ethnic eater, so American/Italian is probably best. Outdoor seating a plus. Thanks!!!

I love MK, that would be my recommendation. I love N9NE but wouldn't call it romantic, definitely trendy and good, but not romantic. It's been a while since I've been to Coco Pazzo but I recall it being good, maybe a little stuffy though?  I can't remember why I had that impression.  I haven't been to the others.

  • megs, I'm thinking we may do N9NE too while we are there- how dressy is it though? Do men need to wear a jacket/tie?
