Hotels in Philly for pictures?
With the wedding 3 weeks away and this crazy cold weather we are having, we decided to think of an extra indoor location for photos. The only idea I could come up with would be the lobby of one of the hotels in Philly.
Does anyone have any suggestions as far as what hotel as a cool lobby or even an alternate indoor location.
Re: Hotels in Philly for pictures?
The new Palomar Hotel in Philly looks awesome: http://www.hotelpalomar-philadelphia.com/index.html
I would also check out the Constitution Center, 30th Street Station, Comcast Centre, City Hall (outside, but there are nooks to hide in),
I'll keep thinking...
How could I forget the Ritz!?: http://www.ritzcarlton.com/en/Properties/Philadelphia/Default.htm
And Kimmell, but they may be having NYE events: http://www.kimmelcenter.org/
ETA:
Union League (you'll definitely need permission): http://www.unionleague.org/index.php
I love the pics at 30th St. Station. Kamila may have even done some things there.
Also, the Free Library, if it's open, is a great old building.
I would definitely get an OK from the hotels. I don't think you have to do that for 30th Street. And that place is so big that you should be able to find some good areas.
I know that you need to get permits (they cost about $200) for having a professional photog take pics of you at historical places outside in Philly so it's worth looking into if you go to 30th St.
It would really stink to get kicked out.
Taking pics at 30th will be like at the Art Museum. I think you're technically supposed to have a permit, but I doubt anyone will say anything on NYE.
I would think you might catch the tail end of people coming in for the evening, but it shouldn't be too bad there.
Have you seen EvaLovesPeter's engagement pics at Rowan? They did a bunch inside the library. I don't know if it'll be open, but it might be worth looking. They turned out great.
We did 30th Street Station and the pics are amazing! You do need to contact their events person Sheryl Haynes to let her know you will be coming. You don't need a permit but they do need some info for security reasons. haynessh@amtrak.com
