Chinook/Entertainment Book

I'm thinking of purchasing a coupon book but am not sure which I should buy. Any of you use either/both books? If so, do you recommend it?

Coolness. Thanks.

Re: Chinook/Entertainment Book

  • I'm a huge fan of the Entertainment book.. I'm on their frequent buyer list and just get one auto-mailed to me each year.  I use a lot of the restaurant coupons and use all of the movie coupons.  You only have to go to the movies a couple of times for it to pay for itself.  Also the Safeway coupons are pretty good too.  I've looked in the Chinook books and haven't been too impressed.  Entertainment also gives you discounts on rental cars and hotels too which is nice ... as well as other travel discounts :)

  • I love my Entertainment Book, though I haven't looked at the Chinook books at all. There are so many discounts... way more than I could ever use but it's fun to try.

  • Chinook Book. I haven't really used much of an Entertainment Book in years but the Chinook Book has a lot in it that I would normally use, coupons or no. I was especially excited in last year's book to find coupons for BlueHour, Saucebox, etc. They also have lots of coupons for local boutiques, New Seasons, organic foods, etc. I just think it's a nicely done book and it's more geared toward the local culture of Portland. It's mostly local, green, sustainable businesses. I think the two books are probably aiming to appeal to two pretty distinct and different demographics.

I agree w/ the different target demographics.

Does the 2010 Chinook Book have a coupon for Vita Cafe?

  • I haven't gotten one yet. But, interestingly, I just got an email from them saying for a limited time they're selling them for $5 off. Ecometro.com is the sister site and offers online coupons as well.

  • We use our Chinook Book all the time - but we aren't a fan of chain restaurants, so the Entertainment book wouldn't get much use in our house.
