Do any of you have plans for NYE yet? (Besides you, Rose...I know where you're going. B!tch.) I'm trying to figure out what we are going to do, and I need inspiration.
Re: NYE?
According to both of our jobs (we usually both work on Thrusday nights), we are going to a wedding, but that's a lie seeing as I sent my decline in quite a few weeks ago.
We know that we need to get away from the general Boston area so that we won't run into someone we know.
We might just get a hotel somewhere for the night and have a nice dinner.

THIS. But preferably a swanky cocktail party in a warm location somewhere.
I have my stupid State exam for my CNA at 7:45am on the 31st. I'm going to go home and nap afterward. We might go over to our see friends that evening but we might just stay home that night too.

The past few years we've hosted NYE parties. This year, another couple, who is not speaking to any of our other common friends, want to have a party. They plan to invite us and 2 single women. Can you say lame? We are both so stressed and busy right now that we don't even want to think about hosting, so we won't have a party, but I don't want to go to the couple's place either.
So we have no idea. We live just outside NYC and they have a fake ball drop down the street, so maybe we'll gather up some other people and go there. There is a tiny chance we'll go out in NYC with some other people if I get in touch with them. (But not to see the ball drop.) I'm so not ready for NYE yet!

I don't feel so bad now knowing I'm not the only one who doesn't want to go to a party they were invited to! I especially feel bad right now because that couple is coming to our Christmas party this weekend, but DH and I throw kickass parties with good food and good booze. I've kinda outgrown the byob (for big occasions, I mean) and food college student type parties. I'm mean.

I have no idea what we are doing... the last 2 years we really havent done anything, casual get togethers at a friends basically. The 2 years before that we were at bowl games. I want to go to the Orange Bowl but its not going to happen since its not until the 4th I think and we can't take that much time off work since we already have too many vacation plans next year. I dont know what we are going to do instead though. I want the swanky cocktail party as well but not sure if it will happen or not.

I have a friend who serves food out of the packages at parties. As in, hummus in the tub, grapes in the box. At least wash them and put them on a plate! Sheesh!

I'd be so embarassed! I'm such a freaking Martha Stewart drone, though, I'd never even imagine doing this.

Well ladies, this NYE is my Golden Birthday!! Woohoo!! Turning 31 on the 31st!!! I hope it's a good one. Though it usually sucks because NYE usually sucks in general with all of the expectations and agendas going on.
My fave NYE to date would be when my brother and I flew from Palm Beach to NYC, hung out in NYC all day, ate in Little Italy, hit all the awesome hotel lounges, then partied at Marquee all night (my 27th birthday). We caught a cab at 4 a.m. and flew back to FL. I was on my porch in a bikini by 10 a.m. New Year's Day. It was one of my bucket list things and I'm glad we did it while I was young!
This year, my parents are coming up to babysit the kids. DH and I are just going to hang out in Charleston, eat at one of the amazing restaurants and hopefully shake our booties a bit.?
?
This sounds amazing!!
Last year, Mike and I went to a fancy dinner that left us starving, then went straight to a taco shop, then cancelled the rest of our plans and went home because I got sick. We were in bed asleep by 9:30. We didn't even make it to midnight, east coast time. I'm determined to make this year better!
Chrissy, that sounds awful. Now I'm determined you have an awesome NYE this year!

Thanks! I just hope our flight gets us home on time and we're not completely exhausted coming off the plane.
