PS3 - advice on what to get?
I like the idea of the $299 console including controller from best buy. I guess I shld also get a second controller, yes?
And, what game would you get for a 33 yr old male who isn't totally into gaming but plays every so often. He has enjoyed Halo in the past, but also likes things like Sonic.
What is this Rachet and Something game?

Re: PS3 - advice on what to get?
From my husband (who's a casual gamer):
Definitely get 2 controllers. Star Wars Force Unleashed = awesome. Little Big Planet = fun for both of you. Rachet and Clank = very fun, everyone seems to love this game (there's a new one that just came out).
You can demo games for free on the Playstation network. That might be a great way to see what he'll really be into.
My husband is reporting that he really wants "Uncharted 2" which is getting excellent reviews.
Somehow asking his advice turned into getting something added to his Christmas list.
ETA: He says you also can't go wrong with Guitar Hero.
ETA #2: He says you should also get a Blu-Ray video right away. Something Sci-Fi that takes advantage of CGI or anything with good special effects.

Also, make sure you have the proper cables to hook it up to the TV. My DS just got an HD TV and is having issues with getting his PS3 hooked up to it with HDMI cables.
I'm not sure about a 33 yr old man, but my 14 yr old DS likes the Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed games. He uses it with a bluetooth headset so he can play with his friends.
Guitar Hero is fun...even I enjoy playing that.

thank you! big help! I went for Rachet and Clank. and we will sit on the topic of the second controller for a bit .
Cannot wait to watch a blu-ray. thanks!
DH enjoyed both Assassin's Creed games. He actually just finished 2 over the weekend. (I also started playing it under my profile while he was out of the house)
Burnout Paradise is another favorite. If you have the network enabled you can create a private room for up to 12 people so he and his friends "get together" even though they're all in their own homes. They crash billboards and race each other and if you get "taken down" and have the camera installed it takes a snapshot and sends it to the person who took you down. One day the wives got involved in creating fun shots whenever our husbands got taken down. (I started playing that one on my own too, but I'm really bad at it)
