Do we have any Brevard County teachers on this board?
And if so what do you know about maternity leave? I was trying to find info on the county website and the insurance page but no such luck. I have heard we don't get leave you have to take disability? Thanks a bunch!

Well, I teach in Brevard, but not for a public school (private - our policy is different - I get 6 weeks paid leave).
A friend of mine works for the public school system and she had her baby about 10 months before I did. If I remember correctly, she didn't get a paid leave, she had to take vacation/sick/ and comp time. She had her baby in April, so the end of her "paid days" ended one week before summer vacation. So she went back for a week, then had 2 months for summer.
