Best moment of the week...

Maybe it's been an awesome week or maybe it's been the week from hell. Regardless, I hope that you've all had at least one thing happen, however big or small, that put a smile on your face and made you feel great! If so, tell us about it.

Re: Best moment of the week...

  • Okay so this isn't a sappy meaningful moment but it put a smile on my face.

My dog LOVES the snow! He has long fur and will sit in the snow for hours if I let him.  He digs in it, chases his toys through it, and tries to eat it all.  I realized last night that he wasn't going to come in and wanted to stay outside but it was really starting to get cold. So I pulled out the snow boots for the first time this season.  He looks so silly with them on that I can't help but smile. Big Smile They cause him to prance around which makes him look gay (K is convinced he is our little queen).  But the best part is that he was happy - like really really happy - and that made me smile.

ETA: I realized that sounds like I left him out all night, but I didn't.  I let him play for an hour or so and then brough him in :-)

  • Talking about Christmas/Santa with the kids. Carter especially is SO into it... the magic, the wonderment, everything...that having a conversation with him about it is infectious.  Seriously how could you be in a bad mood when your 3 year old is staring at you with huge eyes telling you how reindeer fly and the Elf on their shelf is magic?

Oh, and the 4 of us singing Rudolph at the top of our lungs in the car this week was pretty fun too. I love hearing them sing.

  • It's been a really loooong and stressful week. Lots going on. Hands down the best moment of the week was hearing my boss say that I had his word that my position is safe and my salary wouldn't be reduced in 2010. That's big stuff for a nonprofit in this economy. Our budgets are looking ok and we should survive these rocky times. whew.

Wait---they make snow boots for dogs? lol. That's awesome. I need to see a pic of this. Don't mind me, I'm a S. Florida girl at heart. DC winters are the extent of my exposure to winter and I hear we have it pretty easy.

I'm a California girl born and raised so I'm learning about winter as I go.  I'll definitely try to snap a picture of my man wearing his boots this week.
