March 2006 Weddings
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
Hey Mods,
I said that we would have some new improvements this week and they actually launched today (just recently). We have speed improvements on IE now (clear cookies first) and it should continue improve gradually.
Also, if you go to any category page in the breadcrumb (so wedding boards, local, theme, etc) there is a link to see all your posts on the right. You?ll see ?my discussions? and the 10 listed and under that you?ll see a link with ?see all my discussions? below.
Finally, ?watch this thread? is fixed in IE.
Feel free to mention this to your boards. On to more fixes.
Thanks and have a great weekend!

Is it supposed to be faster today? Because I am still just as slow...
And is there a way to keep that darn television from reappearing? I know the trick to linking just to the forum, as so do the girls currently on my board - but I think it will drive new people away if they can't figure out how to get the tv from staying "collapsed". Today, I tried going to my regular page (without the "ad free" link) and the screen reloaded after I "collapsed" it three times, without me doing anything. I didn't refresh or click anywhere. It just kept reloading.

I saw it in the breadcrumb for Local Boards - off to the right. It's the same thing as clicking the magnifying glass from what I can tell.

Mrs.Kocal--what browser are you using? I think sometimes if you click to collapse immediately this might happen, but I'm not having this issue. Let me know!

It is the same thing, but now you don't have to find one of your old posts--you know exactly where to go.
I take it back - my view is back to the cluttered view of recent past.

This is happening on IE. But I think that you may be right - I noticed htat it is happening if I try to collapse it before it has run throught its "checks" and loaded. If I wait for it to load and start playing and then collapse it, it seems to stay collapsed.
It's just annoying, though, because my computer is very slow, so it takes a while for it to load before I can get rid of it. And it makes the board run very slow in the mean time.
In IE, the watch button works but doesn't work. Like it changes the status to watching and nothing happens and also the same with e-mail replies,it changes but doesn't send any e-mail saying someone has replied.

Is it possible to see this with the last actual post time/poster, rather than just the last time I posted?

Yeah there isn't much value to replicating the magnifying glass because the magnifying glass wasn't helpful - we need to see if the threads we posted in have new replies or not. This format does not show that.

ditto this. The whole point of wanting to see my old posts is to see if they've been replied to or not. I hate having to click on each individually and scroll down to check.
Also, the video player reloads for me too when I collapse it (because the page hasn't finished loading yet).
Lastly, I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but I couldn't "log out" from the chat board logout button. I'd lick it and nothing would happen. I'd have to go to the main knot page and log out from there. I haven't tried today so I don't know if it's fixed or not, but thought I'd let you know.
