You know what. . .
. . . the most annoying part is (for me) about all these crazy high post views? That now every post shows up with a star. And since the star posts don't fade out to show that they've been read I can't friggin' tell which posts I've read and which ones I haven't. Ugh! So annoying! Is this bothering anyone else?

I've been in New England all week and missed all of whatever went on.
I was just curious about how you ended up getting to the airport. I answered your cab post but I think I was too late.....I used Mears before and wanted to tell you they were good for me, but some others who replied before I did had problems with them, which made me think twice. But I decided to go ahead and use them anyway, and they were right on time again.

Diana - We ended up calling Yellow Cab but I think they are run by Mears. We made an appointment with them the night before to pick us up the next morning. Problem is they wouldn't let me give them directions and the guy ended up getting lost. Our appointment was at 7:45am and when he wasn't there on time, I called. I had to call twice and they kept telling me he was on his way, he should be there soon. When I asked where he was they wouldn't/couldn't tell me.
He ended up being 15 minutes late because he got lost. It's so frustrating because no one knows this area and navigation systems don't even have my road on the map! We had already printed our boarding passes online but we still needed to check our bags. We always check our bags at the curb but we had to be there an hour ahead of time to do it and we missed it by 5 minutes. Then we stood in line inside for about 15 minutes before we realized it was too huge and we'd never make our flight.
So we decided to carry-on our bags and tried to rush through security. They let us through when they saw how soon our flight was leaving. Unfortunately, since we had all our stuff with us they went through everything and through a bunch of our toiletries out because it had more than 3 oz of liquid in it. Ugh! We made it to the gate well after everyone had boarded. I about had a heart attack! I have never run that late in my life! But in the end we were fine and they even checked our bags for us at the gate. I was so stoked that we made our flight!!
Well, now that you know the harrowing tale, I must admit that it was largely my fault. We should have left much sooner that we planned but I hate being early so I decided to cut it close. If you are smart about flying then the cab being 15 minutes late should not make you miss your flight. I probably should have had the guy come closer to 7am or so. Anyway, I don't really think it was the guy's fault. He should have left sooner but our area is very new and no one knows it. He didn't do it on purpose. So I'll probably use Yellow Cab again. Sorry for the long story!

We all know they're not "lurkers". Although it is interesting that they've been MIA from the board lately.
I think that Star gave herself away when she started rating posts 5 stars (under her real screen name) and not posting on them. She never did that before, why would she feel there is a need to do it now?????
Okay, that's even more lame. Wow. Just wow.
Okay . . . but what is the point of it? I mean, so the views get higher? Who cares? Doesn't that just give the poster more points? Again, I wouldn't care about the extra views except with all the posts star-rated, i can't tell which ones I've read and which ones I haven't! Ugh! Annoying! Maybe that's the point? Who knows with these people!?! Hopefully, they will get bored and go away.

Now that I'm thinking about it, when I called the cab co. (I think it was Yellow, and you're right, it is run by Mears) the recorded message suggested that you double the time you think it will take to get to the airport!
I had half an hour budgeted, which is generous, so I doubled it to an hour. Add that to the two hours early the airlines now suggest, and that took us to three hours before flight time that the cab was to pick us up. I really hated to do that since I worked twelve hours trhe day before and was packing until midnight - but I did it anyway b/c I was too wrorried that somwething would go wrong. Of course, nothing did and we were checked in about two and a half hours before takeoff, but then.....well, you know what Murphy said
Yeah, that would have been the smart thing to do but I hate sitting around waiting and I love so close to the airport I was hoping to get away with cutting it close. Oh well. I've learned for next time!
I would imagine that THE NEST GODS are none to happy about someone messing with their code! I think that calls for a lifetime ban!
