NJ nestie with a ?

Recently MH brought up the idea of moving.  He works for costco & there is a store in the King of Prussia area.  Not sure if this is the right board to post on

do you know of any affordable towns near that area, or can you direct me to the board or people who may know anything?

looking for an affordable house with low taxes and a good school system...all the things NJ doesn't have!

Re: NJ nestie with a ?

  • I can't help you cause I live in State College, but I can assure you this is the right board.  I can also tell you I know many people who lived in NJ and moved to PA and were very happy with that decision (for most of the reasons you mentioned).

  • thank you!  Glad to know I'm in the right spot at least!

  • You might want to post on the Philadephia board too as King of Prussia is near there and there may also be people on that board who can help.

    Good luck!

  • Ditto posting this on the Philly board. KoP is right outside Philly.  I have been told before, though, that property taxes in the King of Prussia area are pretty low because the mall pays so much that they don't have to charge the homeowners as much.  I have a friend who's looking for homes in Bridgeport right now. It's a tiny little town right next to KoP and it's in a good school district (Upper Merion).

  • Ditto about the Philly board! Sorry!

  • I can't help you with taxes but a few areas to consider are Royersford and Phoenixville.  The school district in Royersford in Spring-Ford. I have a friend who teaches at one of their elementary schools and she's lived there her whole life.  I've been there a few times and the area is really cute.

  • Like pp have said, I would ask on the Philly board.  Just wondering where in NJ you are from?  I grew up in Point Pleasant and moved out here for college and just stayed out here...

btw ... your two  are beautiful!
