Need help for informal Christmas party

I am going to have a few of my husband's coworkers over for a Holiday party next week. I am stuck on what I should have on the menu. I am not going to have much time during the week to prepare so I was thinking Mexican themed. There is going to be at least 5 couples and a few have younger children. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • A taco bar.  The only thing that needs to be hot when you serve it is the meat. Just have all the toppings and shells separate so people can make their own, set it up buffet style.  Serve guacamole (Wholly Guacamole in the produce section is awesome), a good salsa and crockpot queso if you have time (Velveeta, Rotel, 1 can cream of chicken, 1 lb. sausage browned with onion).
  • I like the taco bar idea. You can also do quesadillas (easy and make-ahead-able).

  • For really good homemade guacamole mash the avacadoes with ranch dressing(mix in a little ranch at a time until you get a smooth green paste). Add garlic salt to taste. It's really simple but people love it.
