Thank you for your sweet comments! Can you believe I don't have pics of the new house?! We've been so busy, and it's still not all the way decorated (our bedroom is still a neutral color, but I want to paint something bolder), but it's getting there. If I can get it cleaned up, I will take pics and post them! We sort of did a bali / beachy / arts & crafts style if you can believe that combination.
Delaney has so many nicknames - LMP (Little Miss Princess), Laney Lu, Doodlebug, Little D, but so far no one has called her Laney, but I'm sure they will. We specifically spelled Kaley's name the way we did rather than Kaylee or Kayleigh so that no one would shorten her name to Kay or Lee (although a lot of people call her by her initials - KK). But, we always seem to shorten the girls' names to one syllable - Chels, Kay, D, etc.
Re: **LayneNP**
Well, no pressure, but if you ever do decide to take pics, please post them becuase I would love to see what you did to the house. I loved all those old houses downtown because no matter how old they are, every one that I've gone inside has been beautiful. And with all the demo pics from your bio it looks like you have completely redone yours! So I'd love to see how it turned out. Especially with the "bali / beachy / arts & crafts style". . . it sounds really fun and interesting!! Not to mention Delaney's room. I bet it is super cute!
At work I meet a lot of parents aren't too fond of nicknames. Unfortunately, I tend to shorten everyone's names as a force of habit. My best friend, Kristen is "Kris" and my other best, Alice, is "Al," another firend Ashlee is "Ash." I don't know why, but I've always been that way. And every now and then, I'll do it to someone who doesn't like it. Then they tell me not to, that they hate it and I feel bad. Oops.
But it sounds like you have plenty of nicknames for your little one! I just heard a parent in the NICU I work at call their little girl "Delaney Bug" because her daughter's name is Delaney also. They think her nickname sounds like "the lady bug" so that's the theme of her room, clothes, toys, etc. All ladybugs! I thought it was so cute! And it actually made me think of you and Delaney.
