DH is a director in his office, and wants to give 'his people' and the four office support and HR people gifts. The four extra people don't need to get the same thing as 'his people', and I could probably come up with something for them, but the rest of his staff is mostly men, some are engineers.
In the past he has give $20 Starbucks gift cards w/baked goods, and last year he gave company jackets (although he doesn't want to spend quite that much...they just needed the jackets and the company wasn't providing them so he did it). There are too many of them to give personalized gifts, or to spend more than $20-$25. It's just meant to be a small token to show them that he cares, and they know that it is a personal gift, not something coming from the corporate office and are appreciative.
For some reason, the two of us just haven't been able to think of anything. Any ideas? TIA
Re: What to give employees?
I just bought, for my staff, jumbo sized coffee cups ($2.00 each at Target). Inside each cup I put a small bag of coffee ($3.00 each at Target), and then I made homemade chocolate covered pretzels (not sure of the cost) and fudge (not sure again--but pretty cheap, it was all stuff I had on hand). I put the treats in cute little snowmen bags ($4.00 for twenty bags) and wrote them each a "Thank you for your work" note.
HTH!
I was about to say, I'd dig a $10 gc to starbucks!
do you have Coldstone? You could do gcs there?
This might be a Texas thing, but my parents got their employees Beer Butt Chicken Cookers.
They are unique and not really something you'd buy yourself.
I put together little goodie bags for DH's employees. Just candy, really, but you can splurge and get some fancy kinds.

What about a gc to a nearby restaurant? He could do $20 and a little note saying something like "Thanks for everything. Lunch is on me."
I've got more issues than a magazine

I got these and the people can choose where they want to go.
Great suggestions!
DH sends his thanks...he decided to go with the restaurant.com gift certificates, since he could get $50 certificates for $20, and they can choose from so many restaurants near work or where they live.
