We are under contract! Here are pictures!
OK ladies, we're officially under contract to buy the house. Our inspection is Friday! Yikes this is moving fast it seems like!
Re: We are under contract! Here are pictures!
Very nice! Congrats.
Thanks, I'm excited and terrified at the same time!
I woke up in the middle of the night in a panic and woke my husband up to talk to him about it. The only thing I'm really not sure about is the location... it is way more "out" than I'm used to... I like to be right in town, right where everything is happening. We just simply can't afford a home we would consider buying right in town though.
MrsD if you read this, do you know right where our neighborhood is? Am I going to hate it?
Like there is a yard with goats in it on the way to our development...
I am very excited for you. Sometimes being a little out of town is a better thing. Plus, as the area grows, you might actually be "in town" in 5-10 years and then resale could be even better. It's fun to be where the action is, but it's also nice to go home to a nice, quite neighborhood.
Congrats, congrats!
True Margot, thanks for the perspective. They built a huge Sportsclub there and my cousin from simpsonville said that he's researched the company and they are VERY selective about where they put their centers. He said it's an indication that it will be an area of high-growth.
I mean as it is, we're only like a mile or so from all the five forks shops etc... so we're not in siberia or anything. It's just different from what I'm used to.
what a dollhouse! congrats
No worries-I looked up your neighborhood when you originally posted your announcement. You're literally less than like 4 miles from our house. From your neighborhood, if you take Scuffletown Rd to Jonesville Road, go across Woodruff we're the 2nd street on your left, 4th house on the left.
Don't worry about being further out-there's PLENTY to do along Woodruff Road. Plus it'll still only take you about 15-20 minutes to get downtown (a little less if you learn the backroads). If you want, you and Zack are more than welcome to come hang out with Steve and me and get to know the area one weekend (we'll be gone 8/1-8/3, but that's it) or whenever. Just give me a call and we can work something out.
Congrats again on the house!!! And yes, it does move quick!! Do you know when your closing date is yet??
Happy Hump Day!!!
Thanks everyone!
MrsD07, we'd love to get together sometime and check out the area with you. Maybe Steve can teach Zach the back-roads so he can get to downtown easily. He works on E. McBee kinda near the the Zoo.
Zach will be DELIGHTED to hear it's feasable to be downtown in 15-20 minutes. He was thinking it would be more like 35.
This weekend my parents are coming to see the house (and my dad wants to be there for the runthrough with the inspector once he's checked the house over), and we'll be gone the weekend of 8/9.
Maybe we can hang out the weekend of August 16th? We close the 21st.
During the school year it gets a little clogged 1st thing in the morning. BUT if you get on Roper Mtn-I'll show you that route-it'll get you to I-385 a little faster.
Steve can definitely help him out-he works downtown at Nuvox-so he definitely understands concerns with commute length.
Have fun with your parents and we'll definitely catch up sometime soon!!
Happy Hump Day!!!
I just talked to Steve and he said that once school goes back in session-particularly Southside Christian on Woodruff Rd-it'll take about 30 minutes to get from your house to downtown-but he said it also depends on traffic on 385 and how early/late in the morning you head out. Even though that last part is pretty obvious, I just wanted to pass that info on to you.
I'm still so psyched that you two will be moving into this area though. Please let me know if Steve and I can help you out with anything!!
We will let you know if there is anything you can help with!
How early/late should he leave to miss the school traffic? When is it the worst?
Well, Steve has to be at work by 9, so he usually just leaves @ 8:15-8:30.
The traffic for SSC is worst from about 7:30-8:15ish-just b/c every kid has to be dropped off by a parent, etc. Roper Mtn's not a bad alternative-the only issue is that it's 2 lanes all the way to 385. In general, he should be just fine though.
Have a great day!!
Cute house.
