Attn Mac lovers, need your help

My good friend just bought a mac book pro (I think) and I want to get her a Christmas gift that she can use with it. Can you think of something that is in the $50 or under price range?

  • This entirely depends on how she will be using it.  If she'll be using it at a desk, then a keyboard or mouse might be good, but there's no need to get Apple branded keyboards or mice.

If she'll be using it mostly while lounging at a couch or chair, those things won't be useful as she'll probably be using the built in trackpad and keyboard most of the time.

So I guess I don't really have an answer, as it depends on what she'll be using the computer for mostly.  I personally have no accessories for my MacBook Pro, and don't need any, and that could be exactly the case for her too.  Don't rule out that possibility.

  • DH is huge into what the Macs can do so I got him a subscription to MacWorld last year and he loved it!  If your friend is not too into gadgets, an iTunes gift card is always great.  I think you can even buy tv shows on iTunes now!
  • I would maybe get her some protective gear. They have hard covers that snap on the outside to protect it. You can get a keyboard cover, and a friend of mine has an anti glare/privacy screen on his. It's really nice. Just a few thoughts.

  • A little more than $50....but for $69 you could get the Magic Mouse: http://www.apple.com/magicmouse/ -- you could probably find one elsewhere for cheaper too...check MacConnection.com or MacMall.com or Ebay.

This. DH has been drooling over them since they were announced and I just picked one up for him as a gift.

Another suggestion is a nice travel case. You'll need to know what size screen she got though.

  • I use mine on the couch a lot and I have an iLap laptop stand. It lifts it up a little off of my lap and makes sure there is circulation for the fan and it has a pillow at the front for my wrists to rest on.
