I weighed Austin at mom's group today...

...and he weighs 15lbs 3oz now....5 more lbs and we'll have to go to the convertible car seat! Indifferent

He did really great at mom's group despite a little fussiness - he loved seeing all the babies and loved looking at Colin (Kate's little one) - when I left, he was totally overtired but fell asleep on the car ride home and only let out one little whimper (YAAAAY!) I know all of my efforts of helping him learn to fall asleep for his naps by himself is finally slowly paying off....granted I still want to keep him home mainly for his naps, but I'm really happy he is starting to get the hang of things :)

Re: I weighed Austin at mom's group today...

  • Thats great Lisa!!  = )
  • Wow Lisa, I don't think you can call him a peanut anymore!  Owen only has 5 lbs on him.

Yay for falling asleep on his own!

  • Whoa baby - he's a big boy!  I'm trying to remember if mine weighed that much at that age and I absolutely can not....LOL!  Oh well, I'll have to connsult the baby books later on :)

I'm glad you're getting out with him too.  It's also a good thing as he gets bigger to see how flexible he can be with the nap schedule :)

  • I can't get over how big Austin is getting so quickly! He's adorable! That's good he's getting better with the falling asleep on his own too. Glad to hear he is doing well!
  • holy crap 15lbs!!!  Jack is so puney at 11 lbs LOL!  Thought it's not actually funny there was a pedi at our Mom's group answering questions yesterday and now he needs a minimum of 24 oz/day and he is not awake long enough to eat that much!  That would be 4 6oz feedings, and 6oz often makes him spit up(too much woth his reflux)  but she encouraged us to try it anyways or start feeding at closer intervals.  my poor baby is boarderline underfed, but he is satisfied at feedings with 5oz so it befuddles me!

Anyways I am so glad you are getting out...it may seem difficult, but really Lisa it's the only way he will get used to it.  And the last thing you want is to be stuck at home all the time with a baby who hates to be in public.  You will start to become a pro with him, and remember if he gets fussy in public IT'S FINE!  Take him to a bench or the car and feed or soothe.  Noone will judge you if he is fussy too, which is something I had to learn...babies cry, it's what they do.  Sometimes for no reason at all!  So please do yourself the favor and continue to get out!  You both deserve it and hey it's fun!  Good Luck hun!
